The Association of the friends of Bertsolaritza Territories Navarre History

History

  • In 1982 the Pamplona bertsolari school was created
  • On 16 November 1984 the Navarre Association of Bertsolaris was founded
  • In the 1985/86 school year bertsolaritza was introduced into the curriculum of compulsory schooling
  • In 1985 the Association took on the organisation of the Navarre Championships
  • In 1989 the Cinco Villas bertsolaris’ school was set up in Lesaka, a school that has great influence in Navarre
  • In 1990 schools in Sakana, Goizueta, Pamplona and Baztan valley were set up
  • A new ambience was created in Navarre thanks to meetings organised for young bertsolaris, to the organisation of summer performances, the Bertsoaroa, seminars, and so on.
