Annual objectives

Main projects of the Association:

Transmission:

• Negotiate the agreement with the Department of Education of the Government of Navarre to include bertsolaritza in the compulsory education sector and deal with the training of teachers in models D and B schools (respectively, curriculum totally in Basque and partially so)
• Continue with the project to work directly with pupils of primary schools in the towns and villages in the Iruñerri region, in collaboration with the relevant Basque language services
• Organise the Inter-schools’ Championship
• Provide assistance to the students of the 14 functioning schools for bertsolaris
• Organise performance events for students at these schools for bertsolaris.

Promotion:

• In those areas where bertsolaritza has not had a life of its own, the development of direct actions is proposed. The organisation of suitable events and initiatives for the recovery of the Basque language is planned
• Organisation of the Championships of Navarre
• Organisation of the Xalto contest and the Bertsoaroa event for the promotion of young bertsolaris.

Research:

• Continue joint cooperation work with the Xenpelar Documentation Centre for the interchange of information and recovery of material
• Continue completing the biographical profiles with data on the various bertsolaritza agents in Navarre
• Undertake the necessary labour to obtain material from the recordings library of the Government of Navarre.
